When starting her application in March 2023, Ashliegh identified an employment goal of being a Cook. After gathering all of the required information, and completing all of the necessary steps to be accepted into the Certified Industrial Personnel Apprenticeship program at Lokken College, Ashleigh began a journey to achieve that goal. Through hard work, she completed all of the program curriculum, including creating an action plan to achieve her goal, as well as other steps to identify shortfalls in her resume and improve upon them. With guidance from her instructor, Ashliegh applied to several different employers, and was able to secure full-time employment as a Prep Cook, setting her up to train into a Cook position in the future.

Ashliegh was able to overcome some setbacks during her program, and communicated well with her Instructor to ensure she was successful. During her review of the program, she said: “Since being in Lokken College, it has brought me a lot of learning experience with Time Management, Budgeting, ways to handle your money, how to be prepared for a job, and what to expect for a job… The flexibility to balance school, work, and family.“
