Online Learning to Full-Time Employment
Rochelle recently graduated from the 20-week Certified Hospitality Personnel program, and is pictured above proudly displaying her graduation certificate. During her program, Rochelle attended daily Career Path Management presentations, which reviewed the soft-skills employers want, such as: Time Management, Conflict Resolution, Stress Management, and many more. She also completed industry specific emerit training in the field of her choice, and completed academic upgrading to write the new Canadian Adult Education Credential tests, which recently replaced the GED in Canada.
During her program, Rochelle actively worked with her instructor to identify an employment goal, and create a plan to achieve that goal. To do so, she created an eye-catching resume and cover letter, conducted mock interviews with her instructor, and tracked employment opportunities in her area through Lokken College’s Learner Management System. This commitment to herself resulted in Rochelle securing full-time employment with Young Spirit Winds, which satisfies the final phase of her program.
The Certified Hospitality Personnel program includes career development curriculum, academic preparation to write the CAEC exams, and industry specific training through emerit. Emerit certifications include Retail Training, Front Desk Agent, Housekeeping Room Attendant, and Line Cook. These courses build knowledge of industry best practices and National Occupational Standards to give learners an edge when entering the workforce.
